8000C and 8000P

I'm a super novice. Just inherited my grandparents audiolab setup with a 8000p and 8000c, audiolab Cd player, and rega planar 3 TT. Now I'm enough of a music fan that I currently own a Pro-ject carbon TT and I recently refurbished my dad's 1976 marantz 2235b (35w I think?) which is pushing a couple old Boston Acoustic bookshelf speakers for my 800+ LPs (the BAs are not tiny but they aren't gonna shake the house either). I feel with this inheritance I'm at an order of magnitude up from my current rig. I'm looking to understand how to configure the 8000c and 8000p together with the rega, what speakers should I get for the mains (probably going to turn the BAs into satellites), should I get a sub, and Anything else I should know. Any help would be so appreciated!

Have the electronics been sitting unused for a while? If so, clean all the pots and switches,
remove any layer of dust inside, and burn the components in for several hours at least.
Then check them out for any noise or erratic operation.

I have some deoxit I used when refurbishing by Dad's marantz. Will that work? Also maybe I shouldn't have said I'm a super novice but I've simply never had a pre-amp / power amp combo before and I want to make sure I literally connect the two to each other properly.

Yes, use tiny amounts of the deoxit on each control or switch.
Exercise each one after the spray.

A preamp has a pair of (main) outputs, which are usually connected to the pair of
power amplifier inputs with RCA cables.

Here is the manual.

Yes, you'll have to remove the covers to do the cleaning. There's usually some kind of opening
or access hole on the body of most pots or switches. That's where the end of the deoxit straw goes.

It's important to use only a tiny bit of deoxit. Their motto was "the less you use, the better it works".
Shake the can well first, the spray with the can right side up. Then turn the pot or flip the switch
say ten times or more to get it to work on the contacts.
