Have a look at this little woofer from WES components in Sydney, Australia. It's just a cheap me-too Asian made thing but if you put the specs into your favourite speaker box program it looks pretty good. You have to allow a *really* big box for it to do it's stuff but wood is cheaper than big drivers. Besides, there is a certain satisfaction at getting the most out of the least, for the least dollars spent. I am partway through making a pair of 245 litre reflex boxes for these. Should be good. Anybody used them before? http://www.wescomponents.com/Speakers/Woofer/sp8-100/sp8-100.htm
P.S. mrfeeback, you were right, the WES catalogue is great !

I am also a fan of "doing great things with cheap drivers" but I want to remind you one thing: measure your driver with speakerworkshop. The driver alone might sound very good but one fact about cheap drivers is that the spec are not accurate. Try to find the real T/S parameters, you will be surprised how different they are 🙂

Of course, I am always right. 😉

PS - I have used the SP8-50W as replacements, and they were not overly flash, but ok for the price, and the customer.
My catlogue is at work - how much for the PP 8" ?
