8:3 aspect ratio--a good idea?

I recently had a thought...
Instead of living with a single lcd projector panel, why not use two lcd panels side by side, (I know that it would be hard to calibrate, but i don't think improssible). and use a dual head video card to produce a setup with a 24:9 aspect ratio. Any ideas/comments/insults about this idea.

are you talking about making 2 projectors?

one projector with 2 screens in it?

Why do you want 24:9? For 2.55:1 widescreen? Won't do you any good because all anamorphic DVD transfers are meant for 16:9 screens, so the 2.55 movies just have thinner black lines on the top and bottom then they would on a 3:4 transfer.
