8:1 component switch schematic

Hi guys. I decided that I want a ridiculous amount of component ins, and I won't consider buying any switch that isn't in a decent looking 17" wide ~1U case. Plus, the ones worth buying are more expensive than it would be for me to make one. So I put together a schematic tonight for my own 8:1 switcher.

The schematic (full size): http://kawaii-shoujo.net/AntiAliase...onentswitch.png

Here's the approximate cost to build with the 8 inputs and 2 outputs:

-10 component connectors $1.20x10 = $12
-6 AD8184 $5x6 = $30
-1 AD8185 $5x1 = $5
-3 AD8005 $1x3 = $3
-maybe $5 in resistors+capacitors+the logic gates

So about $55 not including shipping, a case or PCB.

If you're using this for low definition, perfboard will be fine. If you're good with your layout, perfboard should be fine for HD, but it's probably better to make a PCB (we could get some made as a group buy if we can somehow get several people interested) for HD, at least.

Feedback is welcome.

We're busy working on a AV MUX at work as a diy group project. It's only starting now but I reacon It'll be kick-***.

8 inputs, 8 outputs, MCU controlled, so you can have any input going anywhere at any combination.... so one input can go to 4 output ect ect ect..

We're even thinking of controlling the box from each room/area with mains transmitted signals.

I'll see what it ends up as and see if I can't publish some details.
Maybe even get some extra pcbs made up
