7" Lilliput or LCD Panel
Hey everybody, great site. This is my first post so bear with me.
I have read alot over the past couple of months but I am a little undecided on what to do, I currently have an older 3M OHP and would like to know whether to buy an LCD panel or one of those 7" Lilliput screens, I am leaning towards the Lilliput due to the fact that eventually I plan to buy one of those DIY projector company kits (which one or should I?) and would then have an LCD for it or should I go for LCD projector panel an then strip it when I am ready?
Could somebody please guide me in the right direction.
Thanks.

well i'm in the same boat as u. except i already bought the 7".. but you got to be super careful with these as the cables are super touchy... i highly recommend using a psone screen or something small like a 5" to experiment with......untill u get better spend as little money as possible trust.. i got 5" and 7" lilliput ...and yes the 7" quality is a lot better than 5" but the point is what ever happens you will be happy with the results trust. if u aint got money then build the protoype FIRST!!!!!!!!!! thn buy the screen and install it...trust don;t make the mistka i did. build first buy later
Build first?
Do you mean build the projector first then buy the lcd? I will probably dump the OHP, if so what would be suggested, Lumenlab or DIY prjector company? Money is tight but I am very mechanical and have fixed electronics before but not an electronics guru at all.

I contacted the lilliput manufacturer in China to see if they have a minimum order and if they ship to the US. I haven't heard back from them yet so I'm not too optimistic. But if I hear something positive then I'll post it here.
I heard back from the manufacturer. They aren't much cheaper from them. Minimum order is 100 and at that quantity they are $186USD each.
China option...
Have you tried XINGA ? They have VERY good prices and some of their LCD Screens are Lilliput. By the way, have anyone tried one of those 1024x240 screens and tried some subtitles movie ? Because on 4" the subtitles are UNREADABLE... any feedback ?
THANKS ! And if wanna order, I'm IN, but a little far... Argentina.

I didn't want anything below a 7". It's gotta have atleast 1 mega pixels and a 200:1 contrast ration.
I just bought the Lilliput 7" 619GL - 70NP for my diy project. I have not really planned or made any designs for my projector but decided to buy it anyway to have some fun with it in my car!
