Hi.

I have been looking around at the 7" projector threads. I have found 2 different ones on ebay. Both 7" but with different resolutions.

I have found 2 different ones on ebay:

This one says it allows you to connect your PC or laptop. This one is AU$259.

This one has a lower resolution but its cheaper.

When I make my 7" projector I would like to connect my PC so I should get the first one.

Just wanted to know if the first ebay link is the same screen is used here: http://www.diyaudio.com/forums/showthread.php?s=&threadid=33576

cheers,
zaphur

The first one... the second one is much lower resolution, and the only way to connect a pc seems to be by using TV output on the videocard (if it has it)... so - Go for the first one! It seems same to the one used in the projector that you asked about.

Ok thanks.

Bit pricey though. After I get the LCD panel, what else will I need?

Sorry I am new to this stuff. How much more money would I be spending to create a projector like the one in the other thread?

thanks for the quick reply.

"Bit pricey though"

Try and buy a 7inch screen (any brand) within Australia for under 300 bucks with a resolution of Lilliput 7" XGA TFT Most places charge nearly double that of the Lilliput and the resolutions are less than half of that of the Lilliput 7" XGA TFT

"Bit pricey though" i think not zaphur.

Oh ok. Didn't realise they are so expensive.

Well you can get them on eBay for A$301 including postage and thats the one I am going to get.

I have seen good results with these 7" panels. Looks heaps good.

So a few of the posts I have been to on here have like "screendoor effect". Does that mean the image is very pixelated? Please help me out.

Should be buying the panel soon once I get a bit more money.

I was going to do one out of a PSOne but from what I have seen I probably would have been disappointed with the results.

The 7" Lilliput pj should be good for my bedroom. 🙂

Heheheh I am only 16 but I will keep saving my money.

I just want a functional projector for my room.

I modded 3 xbox's this year including my dads but thats all I have done.

I am doing this project to stop myself from being bored every single week. Plus its the holidays so I have a lot of time on my hands for building a pj 🙂

Age aint no barrier just the $$$ factor unfortuneatly. Ancorp i believe is around your age and has numerous projects on the go the clever little chap. Seems to source parts very very cheaply too.

Best saving the cash though for sure and go the lilliput route if you can get the dollars together rather than messing with lower resolution lcd's and being disappointed with the results when they dont meet the expectations you were hoping to achieve.

Thanks HiLLBiLLY😀
Luck and a VERY tight budget are my thing... I gotta get a job:xeye:, lol!

Zaphur,

If you build you projector with the "Good parts", like the ones HiLLBiLLY listed here, you wont be dissappointed - you'll play more Xbox and watch more movies than you ever have, lol!

HiLLBiLLY,

When will the wait for the optics be over🙄 ??? I REALLY want to see the picture your compact projector pumps out! 😀 It looks impressive, love the design, but if it has no projection lens...🙁
