The ones with VGA input would be much more useful and all-purpose, but alas, it also costs much more...
And why buy from the manufacturer when you can get it for much less elsewhere?
Spy Supply 007 -- $240 & free shipping

One Hit Wonders -- $229 + shipping (mine worked out to $9.36... your mileage may vary)

Re: yep that's...
Did you see the specs on that LCD? (look at the PDF) 500:1 contrast and typical response time of 6ms!!! WOW!!
http://www.nec-lcd.com/english/products/industries/pdf/10276BC12-02_e.pdf
Toshiba Matsushita Display Techology has a 6.3" XGA poly-silicon LCD that's somewhat identical to the NEC, but the spec sheet is almost 4 years old. Hopefully they've improved it (only 256k colors, 50ms max response)...

Really? I thought we were talking about the 6.3" nec that was xga, 16.7 million colors. BTW, whatever the price is on that lcd, you still have to buy a controller card (LVDS or somthing? I forget).
That NEC LCD looks awesome
My only question is where are the Koreans getting their lenses?
They look very nice, I wonder if they are nicer than Alan's triplet lenses...

...Just a little confused about a few things regarding these small "monitors."
About the input. What exactly do you use to connect to these mini LCD's and would it be possible to convert this connection to a regular VGA (and at the same quality).
Another thing. Are these monitors usable for sure? ...for example, no flat flex that is blocking?

There is not doubt these monitors work work, and inputs would be RGB. The only problem is price. The little 6.3"ers costs more than most are willing to spend.
Cool! So absolutely ALL will work? ....like that one at the top of this post? ....cause im willing to spend in the 200-300 range
I was talking about the nec. No, the xenarch lcd has (as far as i can tell from a picture of it apart) one little ribbon cable in the way.
I do not think I could find that picture for the life of me. You'll have to ask ace3000_1 if he has them.

This guy took apart a Xenarc 7" for a rockin' PC case mod, and although he didn't need to remove the backlight, he still has some nice dissasembly detail photos.

I can get it..
I can get the NEC NL10276BC12-02 for $350/piece group buy. I can also get the av/vga controller card, price not yet known (guess >$100). This is a bitchin' panel no doubt. Say you have $450 in the panel/contoller, another $150 in optics and lamp, you're coming out at $600...not bad.
