im buying a new car and dont yet have a speaker to trace but could someone give me the actual demensions of a aftermarket 6x9 speaker so i can make my MDF plates before i get the car. of is there something someone already has some on a website or could email me me at Brandon250mx@yahoo.com. any help would be great
I can give you typical outside length/width and bolt spacing, but you may be able to make something larger and more substantial to fit the mounting area.
In addition, there may be torsion bars, etc underneath the speakers which could interfere with the magnets, especially if mounting depth is increased by 3/4".
You may want to consider inspecting the car before building.

I'm going to be useing old school...well old school to the age of myself speakers. Fronts are going to be diamond audio CM361 6.75 hybrid components. backs are going to the Fockford Fosgate FNQ 3406 6.5 components. furthermore does anyone have any input on either of these speaker sets?

Pictures always make things more interesting. So will they be full range, or with sub?
Is that a crack in one of the Fogate's baskets?
