hey-Hey!!!,
There are also the big 9-pin types, 6DN3 for one. A pair of those could supply a half an amp( that's short for Ampere, not part of an amplifier ). It will drop only 14V at 350 mA of plate current, so you could build a 700 mA PS with a pair of these...🙂
cheers,
Douglas

Another benefit of TV damper diodes is their extremely high heater to cathode insulation (normally a ceramic sleeve). This means you can use a near-earth 6.3 volt source, though I wouldn't mix it with any small-signal stage heaters.
I also find out 6DM4A and 6DA4A have the similar spec.
Anyone has experiences with 6DM4A? They appear to be more expensive than 6AU4.

Svetlana's 6D22S TV damper diodes seem pretty good. They tolerate up to 600v heater-cathode, making them versatile. These are in current production.
The only downsides are that they are single diodes, they use a top cap for the cathode and they use the 9-pin magnoval socket, which is octal-size but can be hard to find.
