hi
due to the fact that I am a beginner in (tube)electronic stuff,
my first lesson was read read read and try to understand.
lesson two: the construction of a tube amplifier is now done.
i am a proud owner of an self made triode pushpull amplifier.
6n2p for the driver section
6n6p in pushpull mode, class a
ez35 for tube rectifying
aprox 3.5 watts of fantastic music fired through my klipsch rf-7.
actually enough power, no doubt 🙂
lesson three:
i want to build the amplifier again, but better.
some bad decisions about the position of some parts e.g. the input capacitor´s.
for the first-try-amplifier i used output transformer from hammond (1609) 10K impedance.
to whom it may concern
what is the best primary impedance for the 6n6p 10,12 or 16K ?
thanks in advance
michael

Hi!
Ri 6N6P = apr. 1.8 kohm. For PP - 3,6 kohm
Ra=/3-5/*3,6 = 10,8 - 18 kohm.
10 kohm is good, but
I prefer You 12 or 16 kohm, but You must try and select, if there is
a possibility on sec. coil to connect 4 or 8 ohm for 12 and 16 kohm.

Is the schematic available?

With a 6n2p as input stage you can even drive the the 6n6p to >4W of low distortion output using 6k Ra-a.what is the best primary impedance for the 6n6p 10,12 or 16K ?
Ub+ is 335V, and Va is 300V, Ia 13mA.
The schematic is just a concept, and may need some polishing to become a füll amp.
