6L6 / EL34s Orange

Hey all, looking for a bit of lead. I picked up an Orange Rocker 30 second hand. Noticed that someone put in Groove Tubes 6L6's in it where it should have EL34's.
The amp works fine but i have the urge to put it back to what Orange originally intended. I've got a thread going on the Orange forum and people are saying the amp should have been modded, or maybe should have been modded to allow the 6L6's. I looked at the board and i cant find any evidence of a mod. The R6 and R7 resistors on pin 4 of the tubes are 1K as they should be. I'm thinking it has not been modded. Some are now saying the transformer may be bad and once i change to EL34's i'll have problems.

What do you guys think? can i safely swap out to El34s? I'm trying to find a tech.. my area is a bit limited and would cost a fortune to ship it. Really if i had to ship it, i'd be better off selling it and buying something else.

You want to check the cathode resistor from pin 3's of the output tubes, it should be in the range of 100-150Ohms, from the pictures, we can not really see where the yellow and black wires from pin 3's go to (may be R4? next to what appears to be the cathode bypass capacitor). In any case, EL34s are usually pretty robust, so you can just plug them in to hear what they sound like, since you are pretty certain no mod has been done to the amp, and it is in fully working order. Good luck!
