I am looking to build an amplifier that i can talk into and then send it out a speaker out a fair volume using a 6J5 and/or 6S4 tube.
Any schematics available? the simpler the better.

I was looking to do that just to practice with tubes.
I could already make a solid state amp with some old pnps but it didn't work 'great'

A single triode will not do what you want. The mechanically simple way to do it is with a multi section tube like a 6dr7 or 6em7 or one of the many "compactron tubes" <- google that.

Simple mic amp
Simpler yet would be to use a 6eh5 and 12ax7. Filaments can run off a cheap 6v 1.5A RadShac tranfo, and B+ can use couple of wallwarts connected as Isolation transformer.
The 6EH5 will be happy at 110-120vdc @1.5w output, and is about as simple a circuit as I could think of. Schematics for this type of amp are available in the circuit section of old RCA tube manuals, RC20 I think.
They are available as complete free download from pete millett's site.
"THANKS, Pete for all your hard work!" 🙂

Unfortunately, i do not have either of those tubes, i do have these though:
Thanks for the suggestion anyway.

A big box of npns, pnps and some resistors and capacitors, some audio output transformer, a regulated 5.8v wallwart, regulated 11v wallwart, unregulated 12v wallwart (actually puts out 17), 30v wallwart, 35v wallwart.
What about sockets and something to mount them and the other stuff to?
It's way different than a perf board with some tiny transistors on it.
What about a B+ supply?

I think i can come up with a supply as high as 150vdc, as for tube sockets well ughh, i will have to buy some.
Unless you are lucky enough to live near a place that sells that stuff you are going to pay allmost as much for shiping as for the parts. (I'm just learning this myself)

Where is the picture I put in my profile? I geuss it needs to be approved.
Anyway, like somebody said in some other (old) tread I found when I was looking for something else (tube FM transmitter? ore something), you won't learn anything you can use somewhere else from doing this. But if you want to do it then go for it.

you are working entirely the wrong way around.
The expensive bit is the OPT. Start there since it dictates your output tube selection anyway. Then figure out the output tube - you have a few to choose from. Then your voltage amp - again, you have some choices in your stock. Finally, your PTX to supply the design, not the other way around.
The rest is passives and other stuff you know about...

Hey aard...
I think he wants to do something with what he has. I would put the cost ot OPT's at second behind the chasis and other cosmetics like knobs and switches (combined)if you wanted to do it "pro". I said LM386 🙂

That pair of 6cd6 in your list will do nicely for output tubes. They dont need alot of voltage to be usable, 200V plate 125 screen into a 2.5k load for about 4 watts.
