I'm working on a guitar amp conversion from an organ amp, using only the inverter/output section from the original amp. I am building a blonde bassman [6g6] bass input section to drive it, but the available voltage from the PS at that point is over 400v. The 6g6 schematic shows ~250 going into the preamp section, and my question is whether their is any reason not to run the cathode follower and the rest of the preamp section at this voltage or should I try to reduce the B+ to something closer to 250?
