The C4S stands for "Camille Cascode Constant Current Source." It was designed by Buddha (John Camille).

If the PSRR matters, other type CCS settles better than BJT C4S.

BTW I prefer cascode depletion MOSFET CCS.

If you have enough power voltage headroom (anode voltage+half of anode swing+30V headroom), IMHO it's better choice than BJT type.
