6BM8 in stereo push pull - any simple circuits out there for a straight power amp ?

or would a 6v6 with 12ax7 essentially sound the same/similar?

I have transformers and tubes for the 6bm8 but if the 6v6 is same sound signature -i could find an existing old amp instead.....

The ECL82 valve is a nice general purpose valve and I have built the Mullard 7 a couple of times for friends, they work great.

The floating paraphase in this amp might work even better if C7 is omitted.

A lot would depend on the output transformers of the OP

ECL86 is another option, half ECC83 and the pentode close to a 6AQ5.

See attached ASL Wave 8 schematic. I built a stereo version in one chassis on turret boards. Edcor OPTs were used and an Antek toroid for power. I added grid stoppers in a couple of places. It made about 6 WPC before it clipped.
