diode differences
could you please explain how to wire in the hexfreds for a full wave diode bridge?
I'm presuming that you need 4 of them. What are the benefits and disadvantages vs. the ultrafast diodes and soft start recoverys?

Actually....................
The diodes I used were International Rectifier HFA04TB60. The ratings are 600V@4A. I used a pair in series for each leg of the bridge rectifier. I got them for about $1.50 each from Digikey.
The difference between standard recovery diodes and the ultrafast/soft recovery (in my opinion) depend upon the circuit you are using them in.
For source components (where the signal is very small) the improvements are noticeable across the board; more defined soundstage, better bass, and the music seemed to eminate from an absolutely black background.
For amps (such as this project), there was a noticeable difference in the amount of broadband white-noise (hiss) when I switched from the 1n4007 to the Hexfreds.
