I just aquired 2 outdoor security lights, 300 watts each. If I put both of these into a unit will they make to much heat? Would fans be enough to fix the problem? What temp is a livable temp since my panel (Sharpe QA-1500) has cooling fans in it?

hard to get point of light

 I think you will find the heat to be excessive at best. Your bigger problem will be get the light on the panel to a fixed point as in as compact as possible. Many have tried (self included) and it just did not work.

well, the best way to see if they're too hot is to crack an egg on one of them. The security light I stood in front of the other day wold have fried my skin, let alone an egg.

Forget the security lights. The fact that no-one has replied shows that it has a simple answer.YES IT WOULD BE FAR TOO HOT. FAR TOO HOT!!!!

But if you've got money, and a fire extinguisher, thn at least try it, just don't expect much, thats all. sorry

What's the efficiency of this type of light? 5%? 10%? So, you may have to waste upwards of 550W heat. Not trivial.
