6-ohm speaker to tube amp

I just got a tube integrated amplifier with both 4 ohms and 8 ohms speaker connection.

I have an Acoustic Research floorstander with a rating of 6 ohms. Where should I connect the speakers to the 4 or 8 ohm connection?

Thanks.

You can try both. Theoretically the 4 ohm tap would give less power and less distortion. The 8 ohm tap would give more power, and more distortion. This has to do with a different load on the tubes. In practice it probably doesn't make much difference, as the speaker is far from being 6 ohms on it's whole range.

Thanks, I connected it to the 4 ohm tap, when I tried the 8 ohm tap, to me it sounds same.

Thanks.
