I need regulated 12V and 5V lines and I am happy with 78xx regulators. However, 5V needs to be a bit better then 12V. Is there any advantage of taking regulated 12V after a 7812 and feeding it to 7805 in order to acheve improvement on 5V output? Is the load on 12V going to introduce extra noise on 5V output?
