Dave and All,

Will Cal again be in charge of selecting the new "petrie" for the nocturnal necessities?

He should, naturally, be wearing his robe and crown as he leads the procession through the woodlands in this all-important opening ceremony to "anoint" the sacred "Petrie." This important symbol represents the participant's relationship to, and utmost respect of, the Mainstream Audio Establishment.

It would be appropriate to christen the tree with some of the available "Elixir of Audio Ecstasy" from the appropriate Chalice.

Note: The Elixir must be poured straight from the can into the paper cup, not run through a tube first, as Cal would prefer 😱

Best Regards,
TerryO

Hi all:

I'm looking forward to this - my one weekend out per year 😉
Seems the older one gets, the more he is treated like a child (probably behaves like one too!).

I will be bringing a new EL-34 SET amp with James OPT, the remote control SRPP preamp built in Scotts pretty yellow cedar box from last year, and a special suprize (to me!) - my newly finished top-load CDP. I'm sure I will have enough to bore you all.

I will be travelling from Campbell River down to Dave's on friday evening, at about 5:00pm. (ETA 8:30-9:00pm). I plan to leave on Sunday mid-day back to CR. Anyone needing a ride down Island, please let me know.

Jess

Door Prizes

We have had door prizes for the last couple events and this year is going to be even better.

Rachael (of Grant Fidelity) is donating one of their A34 (PPEL34) amplifiers (+ P10 will hot-rod it a bit if wanted), I (Planet10-hifi) am donating a pair of FF85KeN, Jesse Gordon from Living Audio gave me a liteny of prizes including some cables & a pair of stuffed miniA boards, Keven Haskins of diyCable hinted that he'll have something, And there will likely be more...

Vladimir,
As Burning Amp representative to this event I promise to keep these guys in shape and on target. I see that they are strong of heart and ready to step up to the plate and I expect to find a pretty high bar for us to work towards. Maybe I can persuade an away-team to join us in October!

Anyone from Seattle area have room for one more +speakers? Trying to save parking space, expense, etc...TerryO? or anyone else have space...I'm in N Kitsap...

t-head,
I'm leaving Port Angeles aboard the Coho, on Friday morning's 8:20am run. Kevin Haskins may be going with me or not, he keeps talking about shipping orders, measuring drivers, blah, blah, blah... and showing up later on.
I'm going to be pretty well packed with my stuff and if Kevin comes with me, he'll have some stuff. How big are your speakers and can they fit in the back seat? What else do you plan on bringing? I'll be driving a 1992 Mercury Cougar so if you don't have a bunch of stuff we can probably fit you in. If you plan on a later time or different day someone can probably pick you up at the dock. BTW: Evidently US cell phones don't work in Canada, but I think Dave's phone is a local call and payphones were 25 cents last year.
Please let me know by tomorrow afternoon what your situation is.

Best Regards,
TerryO

Terry,

I will be travelling light...me and one carry-on wheelie bag. The speakers are 36"x6.5"x6" with 10"x10" baseplate...speakers are optional...chrisb expressed interest in them so I thought I would try to get them there...

I can be at Port Angeles Fri morning...

beware the killer jackalope...

that hunts this time of year around Dave's place.

I'm calling dibbs on the flattest spot at the 'fest... er the workshop? the living-room?

If Ian's car can handle the load, I may even bring a little present for good old speakerdork
