4'x8' grey melamine sheet for a screen?

This might be a stupid question but wouldn't a 4 x8 sheet of white or grey melamine be good to use for a overhead projection screen?

It has a perfect straight and smooth surface and pretty much scratch proof. it even has very tiny spec on it.
I'm using an overhead projector with an LCD panel.(I'm waiting for my tv3000 to arrive)
I tested with small samples of white and grey. The white was a little bright and blury but the grey melamine seemed quite nice. I'm hoping that the tv3000 will improve the quality on the white and grey samples.
Did anyone try using a full sheet of 4 x 8 melamine?

but it is big and heavy !

Yeah jhovis, it is nice and cheap but big and a little heavy. I want to make sure it would work well before I borrow a Ford Econoline to carry the 4' x 8 ' sheet!

I also copied blockhead's setup (still waiting for the tv-3000 to arrive). As for the screen, as someone here suggested, I tried silver aluminum paint on top of a light grey primer. It looked okay (a little bright on whites) but my wall had too many dips and imperfections. I'm hoping that my tv-3000 will improve the quality on all my samples. will it jhovis?
