What's the overnight temp like: should I bring the thick sleeping bag or is a thin sack OK? I don't have true backpacking camping gear, just small sized car camping gear, so every little bit of bulk I can shave off counts 🙂

Dick lives in Delta - 15 minutes drive from the Tsawwassen ferry terminal. I'll be driving up through the Peace Arch border crossing and on to Dick's house on Saturday morning. We'll take his car from there to Dave's - via the 11 am ferry.

OK folks, I have the cryo cat 5e wire in hand. Metalman (Terry) came over for a visit, dropped it off and took me through the process so I'll be ready for questions.
Nanook (Stew) and his brother Ken dropped by just after Terry left and we had good shoot the **** time.

I don't think I'm coming, after all. An event which was originally Aug 4 changed to the 28th, plus some friends have invited me camping. If anyone is interested in the gear I mentioned previously that needs to find new homes, send me a message.
Anyway, I haven't replaced that burned-out motor in the Contrabass or installed the 5.1 decoder in the panel truck yet.

Did enjoy the BS session with Cal. I'll be on the 7:00 am ferry--I reserved a spot. Looks like I'll be campin in Dave's yard ('cause ya never know if refreshments are served and all)
the treat I thought I'd have was a loaner Vuum, from Atlantia, but they are real stingy with the time that they think a review should take, so I thanked them, but no thanks. See the "Fat Man" review in August TAS.

USB DAC
I will show up Saturday afternoon.
I will bring a couple NOS TDA1543 USB DACs. I have made a few refinements as well as adding ecdesigns reclocker.
One of the DACs has a jumper to switch the reclocker on/off. Let me know if you would like to hear it.
Dave has one of my reclocked DACs, you can also ask him for a listen. Geek has one too, I hope he brought it so I can update it.

there's a couple of Altec 409-8Ds hanging out in a box downstairs. I had intended on puttin the Hemps back in the box, but it seems in the rush to try to get to Victoria for an hour (which was a cluster anyways, we ended going straight to the ferry). Box is 20"X10"X8" (L x W x H), styrofoam and purple tissue paper over the drivers.
