4k 60 fps android box?

Hi Folks; I'm looking for an Android box (or something) to playback 4k 60fps movies from an external hard drive. I have ordered cheaper units from 'over seas' sources and had 0 for 3 luck; either couldn't play 4k, couldn't produce 60 fps, or simply did not arrive.

It seems like the Nvidea Shield would be a safe bet, but wondering if there are less expensive alternatives as my only requirement is playback from a downloaded library.

i'm tired of using media player box with several models, lots of issue with not enough memory to play 4K, hang and android logo shown. i destroyed my last one and threw it on carbage bin.
I return to use PC, bought an ex office pc with i7, 4GB RAM, 128GB SSD for OS with only $200. So many option for software instead of using media player as you ask

4TB internal HDD and 4TB external for movies

Hi Gadut; was the video card in the pc capable of 4k 60 fps? Is this common? Pardon the dumb questions, I'm not too computer savey. I have considered and external video card or a PC with an adequate video card. but thought this to be an expensive alternative.

A question: Why 60Hz? The native frame rate of a movie is 24Hz.
I assume you never watch 4K 60fps bluray movie yet, try it

Some movies, sports, and television are shot in 60 fps, the difference is amazing. 1080p in 60 fps is unmistakably noticeable. I can only imagine 4k in 60 fps!
yeahh agree, while my tv is still just sony 48" 1080p, i have several 4K 60fps on my 4tb wd which dedicated for 4K movie. Avenger + Transformer series already occupied more than half of it's capacity. I like to bring it to electronic store and play them on sony 75X900H and it's so smooth especially on action scene where the camera move very fast. this tv even support 120fps for ps5, i'm still waiting for it's price to drop like 800H series 🙂

I had to buy additional nvidia gt1030 the cheapest one in order to play 4K smoothly on my pc, otherwise internal gpu from intel can't play 4K content.

all those movies that you are talking about were recorded at 24fps there is no point on having a 120fps tv to play then, they will play at 24fps, if you force the frame rate you will have stutters. your problem is just one: Android, Just buy a arm box with the mali g52 and flash it with coreelec, or even better buy and sbc like odroid n2. It will play everything like it should be played.
