Hi guys. Just my 2 cents:
I've placed an order on Sep 19 and just recently Jan has answered my messages (about 10 days ago) and shipped the amp kit. He pointed out that my Paypal's shipping address was blank when I placed the order.
So I guess he's not MIA, but yeah... he could be a little more responsive.
Cheers

well, it's kind of fun(or not) to read nusma's post on 26th september saying he has the same problem
and 27th sptember, just the day after saying Shipping is okay by now. Thank 41Hz, everything is fine.
must be youth impatience, and that may not be easy to deal with
I have to answer to that : sorry man, it is not youth impatience, when you put an order, pay 50 euros, wait 10 day to see you order changing from status, it is kind of different.
And during these 10 days you are asking some questions (technical and commercial), with no answer, it is a bit annoying.
I posted here because the topic exist, and would like to know if there were the same problem for other people.
What is funny (or not) is just the day after i post here i got just one answer saying : "your order has been shipped".
Morevoer, i am fair, because my conclusion, despite the fact i did not get any answers to my questions, is "everything is fine", but just because i had my order shipped. And because i saw he was a lonely man to work. All the answers, i found it here.
I can understand is a lonely man with a lot of work, really i can, and that was my last post saying "everything is fine". But he could just say that on his website that he is not available to answer questions to customers.
Kind regards,
Manu
Might have read that before... ordered several hundred of euros of amps in february.
No news, no answer to mails, nothing. Oh no sorry, something went OK, paypal took money from my bank to his.
I'm near to fire a rocket... we are not in jungle, but un Europe. Things can be done and I'll do it if needed, this is at least not serious, at most... ok few more days.

Yeah, 41Hz has been like this for years. I ordered four amps over recent years and had endless trouble. Even the forum has shut down now.
Did you finally get the amps?
Seems it's near to be a joke, just hope it will end soon, a way or another.

Dang, should've done more research.
I ordered (and paid for) Amps for nearly 200 euros a month ago and haven't gotten any response either.
I have sent several emails and opened a claim with Paypal, but still no response.
I'm confident I'l get my money back as I'm protected by PayPal, but I'm not sure I want to do business with 41hz.com anymore.
Does anybody have proper alternatives we could turn to? I'd like to build a multichannel amp for my 5.1 system.
What would be a good place to go, or kit to turn to?

Well I've found a tracking number on the website for my order, I pray for it to come in.
Got the amp manual but nothing for the supply kit, hope it's printed and included.
Like you, too complicated to get back to this "shop".

As for me first I did not know that it was that bad, prior to troubles and finding this thread. And I did a joint order for friends... so a lot of money :'(
Anyway, until I get stuff, documentations and support, having paid for the whole, I won't let down, many european ways to defend consumers. I won't be a victim.

Yes, I got my amps in the end. Nice products and I suspect for the price they cannot be beat. Not worth the trouble however as you are finding out.
I guess it worth to mention the way they were promoting their stuff and sweep away competitors. Some of you remember v-bro. this guy was directly involved in 41Hz business but seldom admitted this fact. Actually he posted so many contradictory information related to his involvement with 41Hz on this forum that I could only figure out after reading some post where he said that he designed some of the boards sold by 41Hz and he was polling members regarding some new boards requests. Far later he admitted in an email exchange which we had that he is indeed 41Hz part of the team.
In some of his (in)famous posts he was either "just a simple hobbyist" when criticized others designs or "part of the team" when was praising and promoting their boards. We argued over countless posts and nothing would stop him to dismantle other's reputation while trying to boost the sales for 41Hz. It went that far that he asked some of my customers who had (more or less) issues with amplifiers bought from us to send him the boards to fix instead of sending back to us, against our warranty policy. Then he had material for review and posted some comments both on this forum and some other foreign forums including 41Hz one where he was constantly criticizing all our products including power supplies which, as I know he never had the chance to get one at least not from me directly. It all started 5 years ago when he was asking free sample boards from each product to "test" them and write a review. At the beginning I didn't know who is and what he wants so I ignored him and he became more aggressive. He insisted that he has the most advanced Tripath amps knowledge and his opinion is law for others as everyone on the forums trust him 100% when is about Tripath amps.
For some reason unknown to me, his behaviour was tolerated on this forum for all this years and moderators often turned a blind eye to his attacks and I was the one punished and warned almost each time when a conflict escalated although I wasn't the one which started all the mess. I admit, I got pissed off very fast and told him straight what I had to. I didn't had to use any softly words to tell him that what he was doing was wrong. I wasn't punished because I told anyone that he's a #@$% but because I was using the word. So the truth had no value anymore. If someone cares, just search some of the posts on Truepath thread and some on my vendor thread, plus many others spread across other threads which I might never saw. What many of you don't know is that this forum has lost at least two valuable members which I know of, they used to have a great contribution over class D section. One of them was banned because arguing with v-bro, the other one just gave up.
Personally I stopped participating in any active or creative discussion both on class D and power supply sections for the same reason. Tired to be attacked almost each time when I had to say something. I was expecting to get anything else but troubles when sharing my knowledge. Was not the case. I just reply when I'm directly asked (especially by those who cant wait to get the reply to their mails).
Now I'm just curious how long this post will last.

Just after posting here I got a cryptic message telling me my order was shipped, even though they were short on something, so they replaced it with something else and I was to send the articles I don't need back.
I still haven't figured out the full meaning of that message.
None of us are native English speakers, so that happens. Of course I didn't get a reply when I asked for clarification.
Also in that message they explained to me that they didn't receive my shipping address. And despite no further input from my side (because their message wasn't clear to me) they sent out my shipment and provided me with a tracking number.
I wonder where they've shipped it to and how the retrieved "my" address.
Although it looks like they didn't because I still haven't received anything, and that tracking number is already three weeks old and belongs to a shipment within Sweden. I'm in Germany.
This starts to smell like fraught...
I'll hand it over to Paypal

Oh dear I have just found this thread .
I ordered on the 19th but when I look in my 'account' it doesnt give details of my order. All I have is proof of payment from Paypal and having been stiffed by ebay sellers before I know Paypal are very helpful and will give a refund if the seller doesnt play fair.
I'd still prefer to get my order though as its part of a project that has now ground to a halt.
I will make a post whichever way this goes.

I usually got and get my stuff from them. Calculate about 2 weeks delivery time in Europe. They aren´t very responsive though
...and is Arjen still about ?
A quick look at his ebay shop and google would seem to indicate he isnt trading, anyone know what he's up to?

I believe they stopped trading a while ago after moving to a new city/country. I was one of his larger customers but haven't talked to him for a while.

As most of you know. I originally recommended the amp6 for the Boominator. It was and still is an excellent amp. I don't anymore though.
This has nothing to do with the product but that most of the people building a Boominator simply don't have the technical knowledge to trouble shoot a kit without a working forum and knowledgeable people posting on it.
And then there's the constant ordering issues. Too much grief.
Today I recommend WeskeyK's MaxAmp20 for the Boominator. It's an excellent replacement for the amp6 that in most ways are better (the only thing that amp6 still does better is the ability to run 2 ohm loads when supply voltage is 12V or less). But more importantly, I haven't heard any grievance from builders on supply issues or not getting professional help if needed (which is much less prevalent as it's not a kit but an assembled amp).
Naturally if any supplier think they have a product that would fit a Boominator, I'll give it a look. I won't ask for free samples or anything either. If it looks good, I'll buy and test it, and give my honest and unbiased feedback as always.

My kit from 41hz turned up today (less than two weeks) , a cursory glance seems to indicate all bits present.
Since I have found the instructions as a PDF hosted elsewhere and I'm quite confident re assembly and as to which components I want to change I'm very happy with this basic kit .
Since complete boards can be had for 4 quid inc p&p it doesn't really represent good value anymore but it will slot perfectly into my project so its all good.
