Yep, seen it, but in a topic about Aleph which is a class A amp and(as I understand) operate at a bit higher temperature. Another thing: it can be 2sec for one (for someone with less callus) or 5(with more). And these are 50C — ok and 55C — not ok. I guess my question is: how accurate 50-55C range is for a proper amp operation?

Allow myself to ask one more question: as far as I am DIYing Aleph 4 in two monoblocks what is the difference in sound/construction between it and two Aleph 2?
if you make just one , the you can use it mono
it's not polite making just one channel in stereo chassis
ok - lets start from :
1. easier thermal management
2 .then better stereo separation ( even if in same case you can make dual mono , but look at #1)
3. easier and more elegant avoiding of ground loops
etc
and not forget that you are certainly going to look as meaner MF in front of your fiends when you have two biiig hot cases , instead of just one superbigsuperhot

1) Temperature/bias. Measured voltage on emit resistors: 285mV and 273mV. It should be 195mV, so I think it is critical to adjust it?
2)pcb are CFE 379, is there any way to find if there are 680pf or 400pf caps in bases of A6 A8 transistors?

Think about a 400A restoration. Mine was recently finished, and I am still floored as to how good it sounds. Installing new audio grade resistors on the driver boards, along with the usual restoration components changed (output transistors with non-inductive resistors), caps, rectifier, wiring, etc. along with installing bypass caps, as well as using film caps on the output binding posts for the feedback makes a remarkable difference in sound.
To me, using modern parts on this tried and true design made me realize jut how good the original design really is. I would love for Mr. Pass to hear this amp with all the new parts.
It is getting better each day as the components are breaking in. 😎

Fellows, please, another question: Do you need a big powerful amp if you do not listen music loud. I always thought that you need a high current capable amp and all Aleph are this kind of amps if you have speakers with "difficult" impedance.
The thing is, I just can not decide if I need an Aleph 4, or 5 will be enough?
