You have to work REALLY hard, and apply many coats to move the parameters outside of standard quality control limits...
That tells me that the mass of a coating is quite insignificant when compared to the Mms of the driver. Thanks PlanetX.
I used permanent marker refill ink to make cones black again, following donhighend's suggestion.
this ink is very fluid and thin and is easily absorbed by paper, making it black again without adding (much) weight.
it did not dissolve or soften the paper cone. it also did not measurably change TSPs.

The puzzlekoat, as opposed to black felt marker, can also be used to improve the sonics not just the looks.

Not really. Maybe. That would require something like spray paint. Somethign that has been done, but not something i have been interested in trying,If you want to make a black speaker cream coloured, is that also possible?
