Here is a design from Tom Evans (saw it mentioned in stereophile in front under shows).
He uses a Jordan 4" in a sealed box then rolls in a woofer with a single inductor.
serial number 1 and 2 are for sale on audiogon right now for just over $9,000
"SORAsound is proud to have a pair of Tom Evans speakers (6,000 GBP) on demo in our showrooms. All of the speaker electronics were designed using a Jordan Jx92s run full range without a crossover. In this new design the Jordan driver is limited to 120 Hz only by the volume of air behind it (lowering distortion with the reduced excursion without any crossover parts). The bass system is deep tight and very fast. It works from 120Hz down. This driver is (like most mid bass units ) is a little peaky at 2Khz and because it starts to roll off at 120Hz the peaky rubbish is greater than 24db down (inaudible). Because it has a narrow bandwidth, it does not excite the cabinet (no box honk). Tom Evans is on a mission to reproduce the recorded arts accurately."

An externally hosted image should be here but it was not working when we last tested it.

bit confused by this..
talking about the woofer, not the jordan.
usually those light stiff metallic cones ring like a bell at higher frequencies, you can see it on freq charts past 1-2khz.

He's talking about the woofer, not the jordan.
The metallic cones usually have spikes in the frequency graphs past 1khz. Not only are they louder there, but they are also ringing (waterfall response).

Tom Evans- didnt he design some v nice amplifiers and work with Patrick Handscombe? Or have I got the wrong guy
Sorasound's website confirms this is the same Tom Evans responsible for the "groove" series of phono stages among other things.
SORAsound | ZYX phono cartridges, AMAZON turntables, Moerch tonearms, HiFi high-end audio
Regarding the loudspeaker, it's not clear from the available descriptions which driver this design uses for bass support, or the method of XO / amplification with which the system was voiced, but note that one of the pictures on the Sorasound site shows two pairs of input terminals. Whether for simple passive bi-wiring or active bi-amping isn't clear.
Tom designs a complete line of electronics, including at least 2 models of amplifiers, and it's not hard to imagine that a custom line level XO and possible EQ would be part of an integrated system.

it looks like a HiVi M8 to me
at the asking price, I'd be inclined to think more like Accuton, etc., but of course this is all conjecture
Tom Evans also designed a 4L polystyrene enclosure for the JX92 and was responsible for some tweaked versions of Pioneer integrated amps in the 1990s..
You could do the same with any bass unit / enclosure combination that matched the sensitivity of the JX92. Jordan has (or had) a similar approach with the JX125 or 150 rolling off via an inductor and the JX92 left unfiltered in a 3L box. A better route would be to go active and roll off the JX92 electronically, giving more power handling.

good luck with that! I would know way better to spend nine grand on speakers than those!
imagine what you can build for that amount of money...

yes! thats right. I think I am right in saying the amps were so good they prompted Pioneer to do badged limited editions. And the polystyrene enclosed design for the jx92 was I think a collaboration with Patrick Handscombe. Patrick was responsible for the amazing Sonolith(early 90s) using Jordan units in a revolutionary enclosure(too far ahead of its time perhaps), highlighted in green here Article | Electrofluidics | Page165 - November1994 - Gramophone Archive

I hope those are Accuton's lol... fwiw, i like Accuton's and heard them several times. If they didn't cost so much i'd buy something of theirs. But i can't help but imagine there are even better ways to handle bass.

The bass drivers in these bad boys; exquisite chassis design. On a Higher Note :: G1/Giya
magine what you can build for that amount of money...
An entire system + a good used motorcycle (a Ducati M600 posted recently on usedVictoria.com that would fit that budget).
