Go to GeoFex, select FX Projects on the left menu, then Hum Free Splitter/A/B/Y Box. There are a couple of other similar projects. The idea would have to be expanded for 4 amps.

The thing on Ebay is the right idea for two amps. Not sure if the grounds are isolated between the two amps. Did you notice they suggest you locate the unit close to the amps to minimize the length of speaker cords and use a remote footswitch. But then the guitar signal has to run back and forth to the pedal board.

wow man, this thing uses a transformer for each output... this thing is gonna weigh like 20 pounds... now the hard part is also expanding that to 4 amps... i honestly dont even know where to begin...

Those transformers are very small, about the same size as one of those three pole double throw switches (just the part that's inside the box). And, they cost less then what those switches go for.

Just wanted to give an update... I managed to make the switcher using 4017b chip... sounds a little choked... and i am getting a slight signal loss... but its the price to pay to not have my amps blow up.

as soon as i get the new chassis that fits the whole thing I'll post some pics.

thanks for the help everyone.
