I give up to model my own TL design, cause the parameters from aliexpress might be wrong, so this could end up in a tradgey. I saw some people using Pensil or Frugal Horn MK3 have good results. But I think thery are too big, want something easy to carry, anyone have a suggestion of a design up to 50 cms of height?
thanks
thanks
Give me a chance to look at the driver, there is likely a right size one but the tunign will be off.

OK… it is not overly suitable for vented, a 9 litre miniOnkne with high R vents works to knock the peak in the sim down, the other is 9 litre butterworth sealed with no damping. To get a significanrt drop in Q you have to go real big, up to 135 litres. So as long as sealed is at least 9 litres you can make it as large as you want. Pay attention to F6, F10, not F3.
Vented does not work larger (or very well with a tubular duct)
These are the appropriate miniOnkens that would be repurposed.
Classic Golden Ratio. These are freely available, choose one ill figure the vent details. CGR dFonken125
The next 2 would require a planset subscription.
Rectangular miniOnken.
Full-on Trapezoidal miniOnken.

Thanks you so much GM!!!
I think I Will go for the Slim Classic GR dFonken125. It's necessary a driver brace for this speaker? If yes, the bracer as I understood is placed touching the drive?

Increase the length of the vent to a total of 174mm.
Brace kissesthe driver magnet. Just enuff to be solid, not so much as to stress the basket.

Awsome planet10!! You are so humble helping someone lay like me. If you want someone to coding models design you can count on me =). When the building is done I will send to you some pictures!
Thank you so much again!!!
Thank you so much again!!!
So I designed a TL Sl/So = 0.5, tunning to 50Hz. But I think the speaker is too close to the wood behind, there is any problem?
OK, a quick approximation in HR of your ML-TQWT [vented inverse tapered TL] yields a ~53 Hz Fp Vs the 1/4 WL calc'd. ~61 Hz and because it has so little net volume [Vb] it rolls off at ~2nd order [12 dB/octave] below 100 Hz, so not a bad design, just not 'fat' enough to go low.
Yes, ideally need at least 1.5x driver depth all the way around it and definitely at least cone depth.

Thanks, Gm. I don't have the Bl, so I guessed from a similar speaker set to 2,4. Is that a big problem?
Planet 10 the model Folded halfTower ML-TL v0.8 could be suitable for my speaker?

You're welcome!
Understood, MJK prefers to use Bl instead of Qes, which no way to guess other than looking at the magnet size AFAIK [FWIW I used 72 Hz Fs, 0.64 Qes, 5.06 Qms, 3.66 Bl], when all we really need is Qts' for calculating a box size plus damping 'fudge' factor [4-10x Vas depending on Qts'], so while his alignment is technically the most correct from a sealed or BR alignment POV, it doesn't account for the extra volume required to add damping and still get a ~flat response down to Fs and why I use to describe his TLs as having all the 'fat' trimmed off my much larger ones. 😉

There is something to be said for acoustic efficiency. 😉 Now, who was it who taught me that... 😀

It would need to be redesigned.

Dave,
Im'thinking about using pine to build the Slim Classic GR dFonken125.
Do think it's will let the sound more warmer?
And the brace with pine would be strong enough?Cause the wood is quite soft.
Thanks Dave

Pine can make a fine enclosure.
You need to know what you are doing.
Douglas Fir is a pine:
Bernie built these tops from the 70 year old flooring out of his house.
GM has some stories about using pine boards as well.

More like nightmares with post civil war Ga. rough cut yellow pine board siding, not to mention originally uncured [full] size lumber my 'stick built' house is constructed with. 🙁

Oh! Performance wise they're 'fabulous', like well damped iron construction and with those boxes full of probably a couple of thousand coins perched on top to mass load them they are certainly rigid/massive enough, but by the same token, a nightmare to plane flat/square, then trying to drill for blind screws.
Buzz has long since moved to a house where he says they sound even better [no surprise compared to an upstairs apt.], no doubt due somewhat to 'framing' a large stone fireplace and still gets a lot of praise, want to sell, etc., from everyone that hears them. Not too shabby for a pair of tweaked RS 40-1354s.
