Hi Russ,
I've just browsed your web site (interested by the Buffalo 3 8 channel DAC and I just see that the 4 channel SPDIF is sold out.
Do you have an approximate time frame for its future availability ?

By the way, I plan to combine a mini-sharc DSP from minidsp along with your Buffalo III 8 channels to build a DSP crossover but have to check for compatibility (I'm new to all this...)

Best regards from France
Jean Claude

We just ordered a new batch (should be arriving any day) with a redesign to make it more robust.

It now has an on-board VREG, and a better comparator along with the addition of some hysteresis to smooth out rough edges on inputs. 🙂

Looking forward to these arriving!

Well, thanks it looks good .I just placed an order of a Buffalo 3 DAC with some more stuff. a couple of days ago and wondering how long it will take to be processed ? In case the new batch arrive in the mean time I would like to add one to my order (with the necessary parts too)

Just let me know

On the test rig...

The forth transformer position is jumpered because I was testing different input types (AES/EBU, consumer S/PDIF, TOSLINK module in consumer mode, TOSLINK in TTL mode). TTL worked fine with or without the transformer, though I would probably opt to not use it.

EDIT: Also, note the direct mounting. I now include a female header to mate to the male header on the Buffalo, securing it with standoffs.
