I have a 3M 9550 with 400w 50h halogen lamps...
Is it possible to change the whole electric setup and mount in an MH lamp? Or would this pose big problems ( Heat , focus , etc )

changing halogen to MH
Good idea. 50 hours versus 15000 hours! Better color temperature, less waste heat.
You can put one of those narrow MH bulbs in there, if you can fit it in. (You do have to get the center of the MH arc exactly where the filament of the halogen bulb was.) You might have to get out the tin snips and start hacking to do it. It will need a ballast, which is pretty big. You might have to mount that outside the OHP box, but those boxes are usually pretty roomy.
You could also consider using a lower power MH bulb. A 250 watt MH might just put out as much light as your 400 Watt halogen, but you will have to come up with a reflector to replace the one built into the halogen bulb.
