can any one please tell me if this projection lens will work iys from a 9700 3m ohp i think its342 mm
I've got one of these triplets and I can confirm it will work with a 17" 4:3, the only problem is getting a fresnel to suit.

I am new with DIY projector, still has a lot to learn. But I do have a question. I am going to buy a 3m 9850 ohp projector. Now is my question. Can i use the fresnel lens of the 3m for a 15 inch lcd tft?
Is de projection lens a good one? Is is possible to use more parts of the ohp in mijn DIY projector? I was thinking of using the reflector and condensor lens too.
If anyone know, please help me 🙂

use all of it fan condenser all the lenses i just finished mine tonight and wow very nice results with only a seven inch lcd heres an idea get the luma lab projector guide excellent info if u search enough its not to hard to findjust make sure u have all your focal written down and be very carefull when u split the fresnel

I just picked up the 3m 9850 ohp projector and have tested it just now. The projector is in excellend condition. The owner has not used it often 🙂
The light is really bright! nice white color. I just turned to ohp off, but the fan kept on running untill the temperture was normal again, than it shut itself down. Really nice to use this function in my DIY projector.
DoI still need a IR/uv filter? Because I see a square thing on my condensor lens and the 3m 9850 was originally designed to use wiht lcd projection panels.
Madman01, do you have pictures of you DIY projector? because you said something of splitting the fresnell lens.
I am really glad that I bought the 3m for 40 euro 😀

no pictures yet but very soon and i utilized as much as i could from my ohp 9700 fresnell spitting is very easy but has to be done with care there is tons of info on this subject
