Hi,
I have an opportunity to buy a 3M 6650 panel. It is 800x600 (native), 16.7million colours, 100:1 contrast and 50ms response.
Does anyone have any experience with this panel? It is quite expensive, which I don't mind if it's good quality.
I will be using it with a 4000 lumens OHP to watch DVD movies mostly. I have a Spectra C at the moment. Any thoughts on the specs of the 3M panel in comparison? On paper they look OK, but I'd like to hear about other people's experiences.
Thanks.

Ben

I have a 3M 6150 panel, but no ohp yet 🙁. From testing the panel seems brilliant with a good refresh rate and colours very vivid. Yet to fully test it though. Oh and I paid £90 including postage and VAT off of EBAY.
Anyone had other experiences with these panels?

3M 6650 Power Supply details
Hi
I recently acquired the same model but alas with no power supply. As you are an owner of a 3M power supply for this panel can you supply the exact power requirements and more importantly what pin supplies what on the 7 pin connector.
Does anyone have a manual or a source for spares or any other details ?
Thanks in advance
John

I won an auction for a 3m 5300, should be getting it this week. It has a manual with it, older panel than yours I know, but if you like i'll photocopy the manual and send it to you if you e mail me your address.
I've got a 3M 6650 with no power supply, and it uses a male 7-pin DIN about the size of a MIDI cable. Other than that, all I know is that it's 15V DC and 40W, and I've seen one pinout that shows -15V on pin 2 and +15V on pin 6, when you look at the male DIN connector like so:
4
3 5
2 6
1 7
Anybody have further information? Pinouts, diagrams, or anything? Any help would be greatly appreciated.

3M 6000 series cable help
This is easy to wire up to a standard 15vdc 1amp power supply, see this thread here I made for a slightly older panel I have(3M 6150):
I will try to upload pics of the circuit board tommorow
What I did was just wire up a standard 2.1mm power jack, so I could use a normal and cheap transformer
Power Jack available here
IF anyone has a 3M 6000 series panel with a 26pin - 15pin connector, could you get a multimeter and test the pins for continuity for me please!
I have tried this method:
26 to 15 Function
Pin Pin
4 - 3 Blue
5 - 2 Green
6 - 1 Red
13 - 8 Gnd (Blue Shield)
15 - 7 Gnd (Green Shield)
16 - 6 Gnd (Red Shield)
19 - 14 Sync (V sync)
20 - 13 Sync (H sync)
I had a guy called skywayflies on ebay make me this cable, and it does not work!
So if anyone owns a multimeter and a 3m cable with 3 rows of pins, please write them down, it would be much appreciated!
Thanks
