Hi folks. I have a project in mind that requires skills beyond my scope.
I need to design and 3d print a waveguide but i have no idea where to start. I can however draw a profile of what I need, a 2d profile I guess you could call it. If i supply this drawing is it possible that someone would be able to convert it into a usable file for a 3d printing company to use?
Cheers.

Is that circular? That means you need to create the waveguide profile by rotating the 2D profile (DXF file, the profile at the correct distance from the axis), add some thickness (how thick should it be?) and a flange for the driver (do you have a drawing?) Steep angles may present some challenges for the printing. This is something like 30 - 60 minutes job in Fusion360 to make a STL. If you can provide the data needed and a hand sketch, I can do it. If not circular, it might be more challenging with some other details to solve.
I wrote a thread on how to do this, and I would post it, but this pointless forum redesign has broken every link posted in the last twenty years. (All old threads no longer resolve, so every bookmark is broken now.)
It hasn't, but it did break a fair number that were in old formats. Jason has recently fixed many. If you report the posts with broken links, Jason can run a script to fix them.forum redesign has broken every link posted in the last twenty years
As covered in many threads, the redesign is not pointless either. Got a cool couple million to throw at pointlessly maintaining an outdated, unsupported and vulnerable old engine? (security) I gather that wouldnt even cover it, even if you did.
