Hello everyone,
I own a mercury vapour lamp with the following specs: 22000lm/3900K, which I want to fit in an OHP.I have read in the forum that 5500K is generally viewed as the "best" value for a projector.Should I think about buying a different lamp? I have absolutely no practical experience on DIYing a projector, so I would value some input from somebody who has tried a light with similar specs (from the aspect of natural colours mainly)
TIA
Fred

I would look for a higher color temp bulb. 3900k is low to begin with. Throughout the life of the lamp that number goes down... so it's really more like 34-3600k if that much. There are plenty of 5-6000k bulbs out there that would give you better results.
