I want to upgrade my 3 way active speaker with a better tweeter. Have celestion ftr15 3070c in Onken 360l, fostex 299 compression drivers such as mid, and BMS4538 as tweeters. I'm missing a bit at the top like crunch and details. The BMS is comfortable, but a little too kind.
A compression tweeter would be a good alternative to my JMLC 1000. Active sharing is currently set to 800Hz og 5000Hz.

Anyone who could come up with any recommendations? I know tad2001 would be a good candidate, but this one is going to be too expensive.
I don’t think you need a new tweeter but better integration…..that upper midrange bump is tilting your power response and 5khz is WAY to high an xo point given how far away your domes are. Drop the mid/tweet low pass down to 4K and add some series resistance to the mid driver to bring it down 2db or so.
Thanks for the recommendation, I will try that. What do you mean by series resistance and which ones do I have to have? Is this to make middle little more withdrawn?
Tried to integrate midrange better by lowering xo to 4K. Tweeters don't come longer forward after this so I'm looking for some that can make a good figure.I don’t think you need a new tweeter but better integration…..that upper midrange bump is tilting your power response and 5khz is WAY to high an xo point given how far away your domes are. Might have better luck in the Multi-Way section of the forum- this is the Full-Range section, less folks here that are likely to have input.
