Using MTM with 270 mm center spacing and a 3KHz Xover would be an error to begin your trials with. If you are set on a 3KHz Xover using the peerless ring tweeter, best to go with a normal WMT configuration.

hmm i've been thinking about just making it into a MTM with a seperate subwoofer, Just more girlsfriend friendly and should stil sound great, Seen a couple of designs with XT25 and 5.25" HDS nomex
plus i could make a center speaker for my surround, lets just say my sony speaker sound is inadequate, hard to hear whats being said in movies

Pictures looked great and the original speaker (Lipinski L707) is highly regarded.
The smaller sibling L505 might give you some inspiration for your project.
Its some kind of "bookshelf duntech/dunlavy-style speaker".
