Agreed 😉Youll be OK
I'd like to relate a common measurement position dilemma. Many traditionally measure at 1m from the speakers, keep the mic in the same spot and time the W and T measurements. If you listen to them from further away, there will be a different amount of delay between them and you have to calculate geometrically what it was and what it will be at another distance, then make the adjustment.
Vituixcad has a simpler way of doing it. It's not the only way it can be done and may not suit some special cases, but it takes advantage of the strengths of the software. The measurements are taken equidistant from the baffle on each driver's axis. This way you can enter a Y-axis (vertical) separation of the drivers into vituixcad and it will correct for the delay at the listening position. It will also estimate the spatial interactions due to this separation.
Hello!
I made all the measurements again (tweeter, mid and woofer) at 77cm with timing reference and reload the new files in XSim.
I set the Mod Delay to 0 (zero).
I've made a simple real test with just tweeter and mid-range connecting them normally and also with the mid-range polarity reversed.
This was just to compare the XSim simulation results against the actual measurements from REW for sanity check.
It worked! In the attached pictures we can see that simulation and actual measurements, within certain variation, match.
I also reload XSim with the timed measurements, set delay mod to zero, connected all speakers to my crossover and the final freq. response, measured with REW, also matched with XSim results.
Sure there are things to improve in my procedures, merge near and far field, try other room, try VituixCad, etc.
But the most important thing: with your help, I could understand the concepts and how I need to procedure from now on.
I'd like to thank you all so much for the great help!!
Regards.
