Saw Zaph's test of the 6MD38 and the Beyma 6MI90. Agreed the BMS came out on top.
The AE TD6M looks fantastic. I am just not sure that the cost difference is justified.

Looks like a great driver and only $86 or so. BTW, it's a B&C.Saw Zaph's test of the 6MD38 and the Beyma 6MI90. Agreed the BMS came out on top.
The reason I chose it is price, performance and aesthetic: it will be used with a JBL 2123 under it and a phase plug messes with the looks in this instance.
Fair enough. I am confident it would be, but we are into diminishing returns here, so I doubt 2 and a bit times as good. The AE TD6M looks fantastic. I am just not sure that the cost difference is justified.
However if I decided to change the 2123 to my TD10M in the above project, the selection order would change.
Super mid
Hi Doug,
The 6PEV13 is superb. I have been using them for years, with a pair of Davis 26k2 twin magnet tweeters. The 6PEV's have had a small amount of dope added that tames a peak at 6.5k XO'd at 190Hz and 5.5k In an OB they really sing I also tried them in an aperiodic with similarly brilliant results. With the super high sens and high power handling they are unburstable. I run mine via a DEQX with some very underboxed Fane studios on the bottom.
cheers,
Peter.
Does anyone have experience with the B&C 6PEV13? I am a sucker for phase plug drivers. No dust cap resonances, etc.
Thanks in advance.
Doug

How does it compare to similar drivers from B&C like the 6NDL44?
Anyone compared B&C, Beyma, BMS drivers in the same application/price range?
Hi,
any other idea or back up for the B&C 6MD38 in a 3 way or 2 1/2 way system ?
I gues fot the woofer we would have plenty of choice includinb B&C and RCF.
What about the tweeter ? The peerless HDS is quite less sensitive. Is it a problem ?
I am going active so probably not but do they play well together ?
Regards, Greg.
