Nice speaker you built! having a big woofer on the side if a good idea but you'd better to keep it as low as possible. I've designed a pretty similar speaker with 15FH520 as woofer and 8PR155 as midbass/midrange and HF10AK/STH100 as tweeter. Woofer LPF was 180hz. you have to cross it as low as possible before the sound gets directional.

You're right Dave. LPF is similar to yours under 200Hz if I remember it correctly. Your speakers looks nice.
@Jag:
The price / performance ratio of the T.amp is really outstanding. The DSP and its software are very clear and easy to use and there is more power than you need for hi-fi conditions. The fans are barely audible even when you stand next to the amp. The air conditioning and the PC were significantly louder than the amp. I can only recommend the amp and will buy one or two myself.😉

Great work!
Congratulations guys, you have really done a great job with this design!
I love your combination of low Q / large Sd Pro drivers in sealed box (the best!) with great value amplification and DSP/Eq... So good!
Also side mounting the bass drivers keeps the tall slim design that has high WAF.
Also your use of AMT for high frequencies... Much better value than over priced "audiophile" domes/ribbons or the high distortion of cheap compression driver/horn combo's.
Thanks for posting and hope you enjoy the fruits of your labour!

I had not seen this thread before. Very nice speaker!
I use a relatively similar set of drivers in a very different dipole configuration. Sealed subs below, 18" Faitals 10HP1010 in dipole, twin 8" B&C 8PE21 dipole, TPL-150H dipole. Also active, digital xo and DSP.
Have you removed the rear chamber in the TPL? Since you have a separate sealed chamber for it, removing the back cover and felt and letting it breath to the much larger cavity will reduce some resonances created by the factory back cover/felt.
Maybe I can tempt you with trying an open baffle for your 8" and TPL? I started with sealed too, tested dipole and preferred it. A matter of taste rather than better/worse.
The 18" must be vibrating that enclosure pretty good.
I'm anxiously awaiting the arrival of a SET 45 amp to drive the TPLs. Can't wait.
Enjoy!

Unfortunately, we saved almost no measurements during the tuning. But in 3 weeks we will also have measuring equipment with us and will make up for it.
@Lewinski:
The Beyma TPL150 was not used, but the large Dayton AMT-PRO 4 on the TPL150 horn. It works perfectly and in our opinion is in no way inferior to the Beyma, which is almost three times as expensive. In fact, it's the best tweeter I've ever heard (including high-end speakers like the Magico Ultimate).

Indeed Beyma is more expensive. Unfortunately I have not heard the Dayton, but it does look good, especially for the price. I was designing towards using SET 45 amp to drive the tweeters so the added sensitivity of the Beyma was a significant advantage in my case.
Did you remove the back cover of the Dayton, though?
For your consideration: the big woofer playing lowest frequencies of course will make the baffle vibrate, in fact the whole box will vibrate. Maybe separate into two boxes: one for the sub and one for the mid & tweeter, and place the latter on top of the former with rubber (or other) feet?
how did the measurements look? Are you still using these monsters?But in 3 weeks we will also have measuring equipment with us and will make up for it.
Unfortunately, we have not saved the final measurements, only those from the development phase. They don't look outstandingly good, but in terms of sound, this is still one of the best speakers I know. Better than a Gauder Berlina RC11, Dali Kore or Focal Grande Utopia BE, for example.
