my maggies arent the test speakers. i have a cheap pair they get tested on first. after measuring, measuring, etc... they get tested.
i even have a black box that i built. its got an 8-ohm, 100-watt resistor in it, and a power meter on the front. i can test DC, wattage, etc with it. it gets run first, then a speaker, then more tests, then the maggies.
