Hope this is the right thread, since amplifier>headphones seemed the wrong place... Otherwise please redirect me thanks.
I recently bought a koss porta pro wireless V2, it has a Type-C port on the headphone to connect a usb charging cable, or, and here it gets interesting, an analog 3.5mm TRS (source) to Type-C (sink) cable, that can be used, even while the hp is switched off, meaning it's analog, no ADC.
What I'm planning to do is to make a TRRS cable with a mic (preferably boom mic like a mod-mic or such, or just an inline mic) that plugs into the Type-C port on the headphone side, so I can use this as a headset for work and gaming. But I'm not sure how to solder this and what parts to best get for the type c. Would there be some known standard or it's a proprietary design/choice and I have to somehow figure things out by trial and error?
Edit: to clarify, I'm trying to figure out the USB side of things, I'm not sure which pins of the USB Type-C connector would have to be connected to R, L and Gnd

Generally the mic is the sleeve, the gnd is the 1st ring counted from the sleeve. At least on PCs.
Thanks, I think the TRRS end of the cable would be fine, I'll probably just use any wire I already have, but I'm trying to figure out how to connect the output channels and ground to the USB.. couldn't find any public information on how koss did that with their included trs wire on the upper end.
