Is anyone using the 2SK79 Sony V-Fet is a preamp etc? I'm tempted to buy some to play with any views?

I doubt that there are many of them around...)
You can build a very simple single stage line stage maybe even
total battery supply, should be nice...The ouput impedance is 2K,
if you can live whit this or maybe a SET transformer loaded 5K:600R,
even a nickle core OPT is possible cos the low current operation...

In Japan it has been used for a SRPP line preamp. Quite popular. The schm has been publised on MJ magazine. Kits are still on sale.
