This question has been asked several times but most answers are outdated. In looking over spec's and considering availability, I am considering that the BC550 is a very good choice, even though pin-outs are different, and I don't have to source unknowns on E-Wish...(they wish they could sell at that price.) Does any have a better choice to suggest to source from vendors like Mouser?

The BC550 should still be available, but the PNP (BC560) is unavailable so you can't get a complementary pair. However, if the circuit voltage is low, then the lower-voltage BC549/BC559 seems to be available still.
Mouser shows On's as obsolete, but do offer a TSMC version of the device. No they show the older Onsemi bulk version as obsolete. The current bulk and taped versions (BC550CBU/CTA) are still available. They are probably going as well, but for now there is still stock.Mouser shows On's as obsolete, but do offer a TSMC version of the device. Probably close enough.
Thanks for all the replies. At the lower voltages, BC549 is good as well. Also from my own testing, 15v @ @2 ma, a 2n3904 is extremely low noise also. And while older is still readily available, as is a 3906. As with any transistor higher voltage and higher current means higher noise. At least no one has found anything different. Thanks to all.
