Does single J-fet which I use instead of 2N5566/NPD5566 in CODA CLX preamplifier ?

On my hand are 2SK389, LS844 but I want to test at single J-fet which I can substitue after original was broken.

In my searching are 2SK170BL, 2SK370, PN4393, 2N4393, BF245B and 2N3819

Thanks

Cool !

Does anyone have experience about 2N5566 in single die package, I just know 2SK170*2 = 2SK389 😀

On my data sheet 2SK389 not suitable for 2N5566, Threshold, Krell, Coda used it in diff stage so long time ago and nowaday

Thanks

This's my CODA PCB.
A few days it will be able to a DIY PROJECT ! (sorry for my bad grammar)

May be it's a B1's killer !

Semi completed PCB

This's my CODA CLX PCB cloned.
There's no power supply, in my idea I have Threshold Fet 10/HE on hand and I decide to use its adjustable supply rails.

I don't like PGA2310 or CS3310 because of it made me not a purist high-end solid state !

Thanks

Probably the boys at Coda use the 2N5566 because that's what we
used at Threshold when they worked there.

It's a perfectly fine part, but I doubt that it's very available. The
2SK389 would be preferred these days.

I do have a drawer with some 2N5566's and also some IT505's, which
are matched pairs with cascodes that we also used at Threshold.

Hi,
Q1 is Zetex mosfet and Q2 is MPSW92
R4,R7 100K (I shown!)
C2 is Panasonic Nonpolar bicap with MITCAP
LED is white
+/-15V with easy regulation 7815/7915
Voltage across R1 is 1.5V
Balanced input and output are FAKE (shorted - to G, some told me balanced input so sweet 😛)

Hi Mr Nelson,
I know it is a pretty old statement... but do you still have some of these 2N5566 ? I'm in France, so I need to fix one channel of my Coda 05r myself...
Hope you will answer, whatever your answer may be !
Thanks in advance
