I am repairing a HP 6209B power supply and it uses a 2N4102 600V 2amp SCR as a pre-regulator. I need to replace the part and I found Digikey has only ONE 600v 2A SCR listed. Looking at the datasheet for the 2N4102 and looking at Digikey S6002ESRPCT-ND looks to be as close of a match as I can find. Please take a look at let me know what you think? Is this a good replacement part?? if not, what spec did i not look at?

Your replacement is gate sensitive, meaning the old one needed 8mA gate current to switch and the new one 200uA.
You may have trouble with switching, not knowing the schematic it comes from, I would choose a better match.
I would choose a 2n4443/4. One fixing screw with insulator and similar gate characteristics.

i think i have space to make that work, the original was a TO-8 round can. and someone attempted to use a TO-220 device free standing in there. and that fit
the next issue is, the 2N4444 looks to be a pretty old device. I was hoping to find something NEW that is replaceable that i dont have to hunt ebay for. I can find the 2N4102 if i hunt for one but is there something currently available that can be used?
There's a listing on ebay for 2pcs 2N4102. Kind of pricey though. Also, NJ Semi claims to have 903pcs in stock. Maybe send them an RFQ...

I saw those, but no info and no picture. not sure if they are fakes are not. I am surprised that finding a NEW suitable replacement part is so hard?
