From my understanding, you will only get a symetric output from a resonant tank no matter what your duty cycle or tube conduction angle is. Well, if it has a really bad Q, it'll be like a resistor and a low impedance (triode) output could pull it nicely. Better off with resistors as I originally indicated if you want lab quality class A control over it. Precision isn't cheap electrically.
