As well as 19in, there is also a 24in-rack standard which is mainly used for telecommunications equipment. This permits larger components amd sub-assemblies, which might be useful in tackling a 30kw SS amp.
I imagine it as being a multichannel unit, with perhaps 10 separate 3kw PWM amp cards mounted vertically on their edges and running back longitudinally. The SMPSU would be at the back, running transversely.
The whole thing could be 4U-6U high, and for many reasons would probably best be water cooled (see different thread). There would be ten level meters on the front panel, one for each channel.

may i suggest that you take a look at copley controls (they have a very high power pwm amplifier...)
