DIY is fun and you get to learn so much strange stuff about sound and fall into a big rabbit hole of confusion with no ladder to climb out 👽
Can't beat the output per dollar ratio in the size range buying individual components.Guys,

Erin's Klipsch 12SW died some time after the tests, he recommended checking the return policy before purchase 😉

Lol,
My question was if armed with 220 bux in the wallet , you can source the components: driver , amp , wood , hardware , paint ....
To make more SPL at the same passband.
The design is open , can be anything ...BR , TL , TH, FLH , Bandpass....etc etc

As mentioned earlier, I don’t think that’s really going to be possible. Does it include cost of wood?
You could get a yung 300w plate amp for $150 which leaves 70 for a woofer. You can get a super cheap 12” GRS, but that leaves nothing for wood, glue, cabinet liner, etc. i’ve had people ask me about building a subwoofer for $200 and one as much output as possible. Every single time I’ve told them to go commercial. Unless you can find some secondhand woofers and amplifier

$220 is a pretty small budget, tough to beat the value offered by the large players in that form factor.
Don't get me wrong guys , It occured me if that was possible , it was the PAL12 or what design that fir 150 I think it was done but that was 2013 or 2014? , looks like after pandemic all got upside down, all doubled or tripled.
Looks like I hit a brick wall 🙁

maybe a table tuba horn sub if you build out of 1/2" mdf and use a cheapo plate amp (don't need more than a few watts anyway)
You could still come in around budget with big tapped horns, cheap drivers and low powered amps.Don't get me wrong guys , It occured me if that was possible , it was the PAL12 or what design that fir 150 I think it was done but that was 2013 or 2014? , looks like after pandemic all got upside down, all doubled or tripled.

The Tub sub:

The Tub Sub did over 114 dB at 40 Hz using only 15 watts or so with distortion under 10% with two 4mm 10" drivers.
It's driver budget was $10, it would need to be a little higher to beat the Klipsch 12SW 😉
Plywood cost has gone up, have to use OSB to get the wood cost low enough to come in under $220.00.
Total build and finish time was around 8 hours back when I still could work half fast 🙂

the infinity was the least or almost the least expensive and the best perfomer....but harman dropped it from production !!!!! WTF!!
so i guess the BIC will do but there was some 50hz resonance that the reviewer complain about...
if i get a BIC, remove the driver and stuff the interior walls with this

It’s a little bit more expensive, but I would go with one of these as the cabinet liner, works wonderfully.

steal this pillow off your cellies bed, what Standing waves do you expect? 30cm/576hz?
(I thought the klipsch box was one foot sealed? maybe a bit bigger?)

I need to study sealed boxes and half wave resonaces . All I’ve ever done is the 2 meter clear pipe full of styrofoam beads to watch the sine wave shape and jerk off 😝
You might do better with the ‘HE’ series of those drivers? (I think they might be newer than the video)
