20W transistor audio amp

This schematic is of transistor audio amp which gives 20w into 4 ohm and 30w into 2 ohms speaker.It requires +/- 20v power supply for its operation.

20W in to 4r0 is equivalent to 12.6Vpk
That from a +- 20Vdc supply indicates your amp has lost 7.4V somewhere.
Something is broken !

into 2r0 is even worse. It has wasted 11V somewhere. Does that tell YOU that your amp is broken?

This amp might work better into a 6ohms speaker and better still into an 8ohms speaker.
 
Looking at the circuit it would appear that the Input connection to q103 and q105 Feed back from the output..q102 and a104 have there Base connection to ground...odd..

The text says "non inverting", but they're lying. It's just a standard inverting circuit. The inverting configuration actually has some advantages, but a few gotchas as well.

Just being conservative with what can be had out of a typical cheap transformer, I'm sure. Not everybody is going to buy a 1kVA for their little amplifier projetcs. Intended more to be run off a poorly regulated $10 25.2VCT that you used to be able to get from Radio Shack.

Or much more likely is that the amplifier is not rated for 4ohms duty and even more likely cannot be rated for 2ohms duty.
